Reading Goal #13 Completed

Thursday, October 27th, 2005

It’s been quite a while since I finished a book, but I did it. The Subtle Knife by Phillip Pullman.

First off, I thoroughly enjoyed it and finished it pretty quickly. I can’t wait to read the final book in the series. What’s going to happen!? I’m glad I can just pick up a copy at the library instead of wait a few years like Harry Potter.

But speaking of Harry Potter - people think that’s a dark and disturbing series? I practically fainted when Will, the main character, lost his fingers and kept losing blood. Phew. And the monkey molesting the snake? You won’t find that imagery in Harry.

And in other exciting news besides me finishing a book:

  • I have been invited to be a bride’s maid at my friend Sarah’s wedding. I’m so excited! It means a lot to me to be a part of her wedding, and it sounds like she’s creating a really fun party. Plus, our dresses are going to be cocktail dresses. Woohoo!
  • Another friend, Jayna, out in California, sent me TWO bottles of Skinny Dip. Dan and I can continue to smell like white chocolate, violets, and cloves. Thank you SOOOOO much Jayna!
  • And THANK GOODNESS the movie Grizzly Man is about to end here at The Moxie. While it’s an intriguing documentary, if I hear Timothy Treadwell say “I love you” one more time, I’m going to scream.

    That’s all.
