Welcome to my new theater!

Friday, November 28th, 2008

What a week. For the past month, every night I would say to myself, “Please just get me through November 26, and I can handle anything in the entire world.”

Well, it’s now November 28, so we did it!

Wednesday November 26 was probably one of the hardest, most emotional days in my life. I experienced the lowest of lows, and the highest of highs, and was running on about 5 hours of sleep (for me, that’s just not acceptable…I need 8 or 9, at least, to be fully functioning). But despite all the mental breakdowns and tears, I know I have the greatest family and husband, and such a great staff. Everyone (including staff) worked hours and hours, without pay, to make sure we could open our doors by Wednesday. And we did! I honestly don’t know to thank them.

The place looks great! We’ve had a few technical glitches, like the projector’s automation system catching on fire, and a few projection brain wraps, but our customers are also great people, and they’ve been patient through our opening days.

There are many silver linings, obviously, to all the stress. For example, we’re open again! That means an income! And seeing our customers! And eating popcorn! And the craziest silver lining from all the stress: I lost almost TEN pounds in two weeks!

So, thanks to everyone who supported us, even if it’s just an email to see how we were doing. It means a lot, and I’m very grateful!
